Waters Addressed
Reardon Draw

Background

In 1998, Reardon Draw, the lower three miles from the confluence with the Green River, was listed as threatened due to habitat degradation.

Monitoring Activities
Data was collected during the 5 year implementation period of the Reardon Draw project. Water quality data was collected from 1994 to 1996.

Planning
The Reardon Draw project was implemented from 1994-1998. The goals were aimed at reducing sediment and increasing vegetative ground cover.

The Reardon Draw final report titled “Section 319 Nonpoint Source Control Program, Watershed Project Final Report, Reardon Draw Project, Sublette County Conservation District, April 17, 2000” was prepared and submitted to Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WYDEQ). The SCCD also prepared and sent the following report in July 2005 to the WYDEQ, “Assessment of a section of the Green River from Sublette County Conservation District Surface Water Site GR21 located above the Confluence of Reardon and Milleson Draws Downstream to Sublette County Conservation District Surface Water Site GR23”.

Implementation Activities
Through the Reardon Draw project, a stock water pipeline system and livestock herding for grazing management were implemented.

The district has requested that Reardon Draw be delisted during the 2006 listing cycle.

Participants
Participation in the original Reardon Draw project included the allotment permittees, Frank Fear and John J. Chrisman, NRCS, BLM, Wyoming Game & Fish Department – Fisheries and Habitat Divisions and the State Engineer’s Office.
