2006 WACD Policy Book


EDUCATION

Policy #1: YOUTH EDUCATION
WACD endorses conservation of natural resource curriculum for youth education. The goal for a comprehensive program is a learning process designed to help young people develop an awareness of the natural environment, how it functions as a whole and how to sustain it. (Adopted – 90, Sunset - 2008)

Policy #2: CONSERVATION EDUCATION
WACD supports teacher education institutions incorporating conservation education into state and district standards. (Adopted – 90, Sunset - 2008)

Policy #3: CONSERVATION CONTESTS
WACD supports range, soil and other conservation contests and events. (Adopted – 84, Sunset - 2010)

Policy #4: ENVIROTHON
WACD promotes Envirothon education curriculum and academic competition. (Adopted – 97, Sunset - 2010)

Policy #5: RURAL AND URBAN EDUCATION
WACD promotes and supports natural resource conservation education for rural and urban Wyoming. (Adopted - 01, Sunset 2008)

Policy #6: VOCATIONAL EDUCATION - The WACD jointly supports, with WSGA and WWGA, equal vocational education opportunities for all Wyoming students. All Wyoming students.  All Wyoming students, at both large and small schools deserve the opportunity to learn job-creating skills in such programs as ag-education. (Adopted - 02 - No Sunset)

Policy #7: AG SUCCESS STORIES RECOMMENDATION
The WWGA and the WSGA join WACD in highlighting Wyoming Ag success stories on Wyoming Public Radio. (Adopted - 02 - Sunset - 2009)
