- Winters Farms

Brent &
Judy Winters
Steve & Mary Winters
The
Winters Families work together to make their living on Wyoming soils.
The two brothers' (Brent & Steve) ancestors hail from Denmark. Their
parents settled here to farm, and passed their farming knowledge down to
their boys, who were born and raised here.
The
Winters families are active in school sports and enjoy hunting and
fishing in the area. Brent and Judy have six children, they are hoping a couple
of them may
choose to stay and eventually take over the farming.
The
Winters have installed two center pivots and some wheel line sprinklers
in order to use water more efficiently. They have noticed that alkali
spots seem to fade with the use of the sprinklers. Less water is used
with sprinklers and that is especially good in drought years.
The
Winters feel that the future of farming/ranching is a little scary and
that only big corporate farms are making it. However they plan to
"keep plugging" hoping to succeed. In ten years they would
like to have had their kids take over (hopefully doing well). In twenty
years retirement is their goal.
