The Platte County Resource District conducts annual signup periods for cost share assistance to producers interested in establishing or enhancing wildlife habitat on their property. The program will focus on prioritizing wildlife habitat projects and offering local (district) cost share funding to producers to implement the habitat projects. Project proposals may also be eligible for additional funding through partners Chugwater Creek Chapter of Pheasants Forever, NRCS, and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. The Platte County Resource District is one of only a few districts statewide that offer local (district) cost share funding for implementing wildlife habitat projects. The PCRD Board of Supervisors considers proposals for projects annually, using ranking criteria to prioritize funding of proposals to maximize the positive impact to wildlife habitat in Platte County. Conservation practices such as shelterbelts, guzzler tanks, CRP enhancement, riparian enhancement, and food plot establishment are examples of the types of conservation practices that may be considered for funding. For more information, please contact Brady Irvine at 322-9060, extension 13 for more information or stop by the PCRD office at 1502 Progress Ct. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
