Platte County Resource District Range Cost-Share Program

General Program Objectives

The Range Cost-Share program was established to help fund projects that make a positive difference on the land for Platte County cooperators who don’t meet qualifying criteria or who have not met the deadline for certain federal or state programs. Eligible projects may be implemented on private land as well as public lands as long as the cooperator applying for the cost-share is the one paying the lease.

Eligible projects may include but are not limited to:

Water resource development (solar pumping plants, tanks, pipelines, springs, etc.)

Grazing systems

Land treatments (no-till drill, weed control, Russian Olive Removal, etc.)

Goals

Help keep agriculture operations sustainable

Help provide cooperators the opportunity to implement good stewardship practices

Help improve grazing distribution

Improve water quality/quantity

Funding

The Range Cost-Share program is a matching program of 50% of the total project cost not to exceed $2,500.00. All projects are pre-approved by the District Board of Supervisors. Costs are reimbursed by the District after completion and evaluation of the project. All projects are required to meet PCRD/NRCS technical standards and specifications. Final payments will not be submitted unless these standards are met and approved by the District Board of Supervisors.

*Cost-Share funds may be subject to federal income tax.
