WASHAKIE COUNTY CONSERVATION DISTRICT OFFERS

COST SHARE FOR ON-THE-GROUND PROJECTS.

 

If you’re interested in implementing natural resource improvement projects, the Washakie County Conservation District (WCCD) is currently accepting applications for cost share assistance from Washakie County residents.  Successful applicants will be awarded 50% cost share, with a maximum of $10,000.00. 

All proposals submitted must identify at least 50% in matching funds.  This match can be either project installation labor and/or materials.   Applications are available at the WCCD office and interested residents must complete an application, which includes the following questions:

1. How will the resource benefit from this project?

2.  Have you considered alternative treatments?  If so, what were they?

3.  Will this proposed project provide public educational resource conservation opportunities? (news media, photos, tours, school field trips, etc.)

4.  Will there be other partners involved with this project?  Explain.

5.  Are you willing to provide all necessary operation and maintenance to maintain the project after completion?  Explain.

6.  How do you plan to monitor your project?

Eligible projects are required to fall under the following three categories: Would this project have a significant impact on water quality? Would this project enhance or protect the soils resource? Would this project enhance wildlife habitat/fisheries?

Projects awarded over the past five years have include stockwater pipelines/tanks, windbreaks, PV solar for livestock/wildlife water, moisture sensors for irrigation water management, reservoir cleaning, streambank stabilization.
