Ag in the Classroom
Wyoming Agriculture In the Classroom (WAIC) is a
nonprofit 501(c)3 educational organization. The program is supported
by the Wyoming Department of Agriculture, the Wyoming Beef Council,
and private donations and grants. Wyoming Agriculture In The Classroom
sponsor's projects for teachers and students in an effort to increase
their understanding of agriculture's impact in today's world. WAIC
offers teacher training, student educational materials, resource
materials and summer workshops designed to offer a variety of
educational opportunities for Wyoming schools.

Learning Tree
Project Learning Tree
is an award-winning environmental education program designed for
teachers and other educators, parents and community leaders working
with youth from preschool through grade 12.

WET
Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) is a nonprofit water
education program and publisher for educators and young people ages
5-18. The program facilitates and promotes awareness,
appreciation, knowledge and stewardship of water resources through the
dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids and the establishment
of internationally sponsored Project WET programs.

Food, Land and People
Food, Land & People (FLP), established in 1988, is based in
Chandler, Arizona. Food, Land & People is a nonprofit organization
committed to helping people of all ages better understand the
interrelationships among agriculture, the environment, and people of
the world. Food, Land & People's science- and social
sciences-based curriculum, Resources for Learning, currently serves
Pre-K to 12th grade students throughout the United States. The
curriculum consists of 55 hands-on lessons, developed and tested by
more than a thousand educators. The subjects range from environmental
science and stewardship ("Don't Use It All Up!") to human
populations and land use issues ("What Will the Land
Support?")

Canon
Envirothon
Each year, Envirothon provides more and more students with a chance to
get "up-close and personal" with North America's natural
resources. Envirothon offers both in-class curriculum and hands-on
field experiences focused around ecology, natural resource management,
and current environmental issues. This unique combination of learning
experiences and breadth of study is part of what has made the
Envirothon a huge success with students and educators across the
United States and Canada.

Mission: The Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts provides
leadership for the conservation of Wyoming's soil and water
resources, promotes the control of soil erosion, promotes and
protects the quality of Wyoming's waters, reduce siltation of stream
channels and reservoirs, promote wise use of Wyoming's water, and
all other natural resources, preserve and enhance wildlife habitat,
protect the tax base and promote the health, safety and general
welfare of the citizens of this state through a responsible
conservation ethic. |
